Hi, I'm Jim Parsons, host of Shake Rattle Showtime. In my daytime job, I produce various syndicated features here at the MPG Radio Network. I enjoy what I do, particularly working with the great people involved in these shows. But once a week, the clock stops and work time becomes playtime. That's when we get to "spin again" the great music and stories too from the 50's and early 60's. This era was springtime in the evolution of rock and roll and pop music in America. There were so many exciting sounds, styles and artists…all blossoming from different parts of the country. For a couple of hours each week, we're able to reconnect with this exciting time and experience the energy, optimism and romance that prevailed back then. It's all there…in the music, and in the stories about the people who made the music. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy bringing Shake Rattle Showtime to you.
